Fonda Joan

Our history

La Fonda Joan is a family-run establishment located in the spa town of Santa Coloma de Farners, in the province of Girona. It has free Wi-Fi and most rooms have a private balcony. As explained in the book "cincuanta-cinc llegües de passos oblidats i xarrabascos", the hotel is located on a traditional route, linked to the "camí ral". The origins of the Fonda Joan date back to the end of the s. XIX, when Dolores Ramón and her husband bought the hostel which they called "Can Maunés", an abbreviation for Dalmau (Mau) and Geronés (nés). In 1966 Enriqueta and Joan acquired it, renaming it "Fonda Joan". Currently managed by Bet and Joan. Since then we have not stopped growing, arriving, on June 10, 2014 during the "pa amb tomàquet" fair, to be awarded the "Setrill d'or" for our work and constant effort to stay up to date.
